The AMCAS application verification process can take up to 4-6 weeks from the time your application and all required official transcripts are received by AMCAS and may take longer during peek processing times. Please note that WashU Medicine will not receive your primary application until it has been verified by AMCAS.

May 1, 2026: American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) primary application opens.
May 30, 2026: Earliest date for submission of AMCAS primary application.
June 26, 2026: Earliest date that WashU Medicine will receive verified AMCAS primary applications.
July – October 2026: Applicants with verified AMCAS primary applications electronically invited to complete WashU Medicine’s supplemental application.
September 2026 – February 2027: Interview season. Virtual interviews are typically offered Monday through Friday. Once invited for an interview, you can schedule your virtual interview day in the admissions portal.
September 16, 2026: LAST DAY for individuals applying to the MSTP (MD-PhD) to submit their AMCAS primary application to WashU Medicine.
September 16, 2026: LAST DAY for individuals applying to the MSTP (MD-PhD) to submit their transcripts to AMCAS.
September 30, 2026: LAST DAY for individuals applying to the MSTP (MD-PhD) to submit their WashU Medicine supplemental application. WashU Medicine supplemental application must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT.
October 7, 2026: LAST DAY for letters of recommendation to be submitted for MSTP (MD-PhD) applicants.
October 15, 2026: LAST DAY for individuals applying to the MD program to submit their AMCAS primary application to WashU Medicine.

December 2026 – March 2027: Admissions decisions released. Official notification will come via our admissions portal, mdapply.wustl.edu. In many cases, accepted applicants will also receive a congratulatory personal phone call.
April 15, 2027: LAST DAY by which we notify you whether you are Accepted, Not Accepted or offered a position on our Wait List.
April 30, 2027: Selecting “Plan to Enroll”, or PTE, is required in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool. Per WashU Medicine policy, applicants must reduce their number of acceptances to medical school to one school, thereby holding only one acceptance position. Per WashU Medicine policy, applicants may hold waitlist positions at other schools.
