Katherine Bligard, MD, MA
Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Katherine Bligard, MD, MA is a proud WUSM almuna. She is currently an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!). She moved to Saint Louis in 2010 when she enrolled in the MD/MA program, graduating in 2015. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Washington University. Subsequently, she was invited to join the faculty at WashU.
Bligard’s clinical and research interests lie in fetal diagnosis and therapy, including laser therapy for twin-twin transfusion syndrome and other in utero surgeries. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Greg, who was her medical school classmate and her son, Andrew. She also enjoys watching LSU sports, board games, and musical theatre.
