Assistant Professor of Medicine

Katherine Clifton, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine and specializes in breast cancer. She earned her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed residency training in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and fellowship in hematology/oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

Clifton is site principal investigator on several clinical trials in breast cancer. Her main research interests are in hormone receptor positive breast cancer and cancer in older adults. She also enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows. She is a member of several societies including the American Society for Clinical Oncology, the Cancer and Aging Research Group and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Older Adult Oncology Panel.

Her hobbies outside of medicine include spending time with her children, spinning, reading, and traveling.
