Chris Sumski, DO, MEd

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

Chris Sumski, DO, MEd, is a St. Louis native and pediatric cardiologist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He joined the faculty of the School of Medicine in the summer of 2020.

He earned his undergraduate degrees in biology and health science from Truman State University, and his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. After medical school he moved to Milwaukee for a general pediatrics residency at Children’s Wisconsin. He stayed on for a year of chief residency as well, in addition to completing a pediatric cardiology fellowship. He earned a master’s degree in medical education from the University of Cincinnati in 2020.

Sumski’s clinical interests are in general pediatric cardiology and preventative cardiology. He also has a passion for medical education, and serves in multiple educator roles, including as a clinic preceptor, examiner for pediatrics clerkship oral exams, preceptor for pediatric cardiology lectures, and as a medical student coach. His hobbies include reading, listening to music, running, and playing chess and guitar.
