Catherine Hermann, MD, is a St. Louis native and joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics as an assistant professor in August 2023. She earned her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine.  She completed an internal medicine residency at Yale New-Haven Hospital and then returned to the St. Louis area to practice internal medicine primary care.  For her patients, she has emphasized primary prevention for hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She has always enjoyed working with medical students and residents in her practice. She is now splitting her time between seeing patients in Student Health Services and supervising residents in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Primary Care Medicine Clinic.  She is currently volunteering in Street Med STL, an organization that seeks to provide medical care to the unhoused.  In her free time, she likes to read fiction, hike, and watch St. Louis City SC games.
