Charles Kircher, MD, MBA

Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Neurology

Charles Kircher, MD, MBA, is currently an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine.  He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Neurocritical Care.  He works clinically as an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Missouri Baptist Medical Center and a member of the interdisciplinary stroke response team.  His research interests include stroke systems of care, emergency neuroimaging, acute stroke therapeutics and neurocritical care. He is an active investigator in several late-stage clinical trials in acute stroke care.  He has developed several operations and educational modules for local hospitals, physicians, EMS agencies, and regional critical care transport organizations and has authored numerous review articles and book chapters on prehospital and emergency care of stroke patients.  He is an Eagle Scout and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha.  In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, cooking and coaching youth ice hockey.
