Professor of Neurology

Raman Malhotra, MD, is currently a professor of neurology at the Sleep Medicine Center at Washington University in St. Louis.   He serves as the program director of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Washington University. Malhotra attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for both his undergraduate degree and for medical school. He then completed his neurology residency and sleep medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan.  He is board certified in neurology and sleep medicine.  He served as president for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) for 2021-22 and served on AASM’s Board of Directors from 2015-2023.  His academic interests focus on teaching sleep medicine to other medical providers, as he has authored two textbooks on sleep medicine geared toward residents and medical students. His clinical interests include managing patients with narcolepsy and abnormal movements during sleep.
