
Michael Montana, MD, PhD
Michael Montana, MD, PhD, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine in 2012 with both his medical degree and doctorate. He also completed an anesthesiology residency and pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Washington University. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. His research interests include improving the use of opioids for pain control in pediatric surgery and the development of novel analgesic medications. He enjoys teaching at the medical school, especially in the simulation centers.
He lives in the city of St. Louis with his wife, Cindy Montana, MD, PhD, their daughter Katie, and their two cats. Outside of work he enjoys photography and backpacking, and “tries to combine the two interests whenever possible!”
