Maithilee Menezes, MD, FAAP

Associate Professor of Otolaryngology

Maithilee Menezes, MD, FAAP, is an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology– Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. She is a graduate of Grinnell College (bachelor’s degree) and the University of Iowa-Carver School of Medicine.  Dr. Menezes was a NIH Research Fellow and surgical resident in otolaryngology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She completed a clinical fellowship focused on pediatric otolaryngology at Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego. She is a member of a number of professional societies and organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, and the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies. 

Dr. Menezes’ current hospital appointments are at both Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She serves as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Lead, and Equity Champion for the Department of Otolaryngology.  She has a long commitment to medical education,  teaching medical students, residents and fellows in multiple divisions of the School of Medicine. In addition, she serves on the Department of Otolaryngology  Curriculum Committee, and chairs the Clinical Competency Committee.   She is a long-time member of the Academic Women’s Network at Washington University, and contributes regularly to the MomDocs series produced by St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
