Kara Sternhell-Blackwell, MD

Kara Sternhell-Blackwell, MD, is an assistant professor of dermatology at Washington University School of Medicine.  She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. Blackwell completed an internship in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She completed her residency in dermatology at Washington University, where she served as chief resident.  Blackwell sees patients of all ages at the Washington University West County Dermatologic Outpatient Clinic.  She is actively involved in clinical practice, research, and teaching.  Her interests include general medical dermatology (including detention and prevention of skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune disease and other common skin conditions) and care of patients at high risk for skin cancer due to solid organ transplantation.

Blackwell is also actively involved in diversity efforts in dermatology and the Department of Medicine, and she serves as the Director of LGBTQ Initiatives in Medicine.
