Joan Riley, PhD
Dr. Riley is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and associate director of the Core Laboratory for Clinical Studies in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Riley earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1992 and her doctoral degree from Washington University in 1999. She completed her training as a fellow in clinical chemistry at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Prior to this, Dr. Riley held research positions at Genetech and in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University.
She is the recipient of the K12-BIRCWH award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her research focuses on reproductive immunology, particularly the mechanisms by which uterine natural killer cells facilitate placentation and uterine decidualization.
