Daniel Kreisel, MD, PhD

Professor of Surgery

Dr. Daniel Kreisel is a professor of surgery and of pathology and immunology at Washington University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1995 and his doctoral degree in immunology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He completed training in general surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and training in thoracic surgery at Washington University. Kreisel is a general thoracic surgeon with a primary clinical interest in lung transplantation. He is currently the surgical director of the lung transplant program at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Kreisel oversees a federally funded basic research laboratory that focuses on transplantation immunology.
