Anjum Hassan, MD
Anjum Hassan, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine and Director of Florescent-In-Situ-Hybridization (FFPE FISH) Laboratory in Cytogenomics and Molecular Pathology. She also directs the fellowship program in hematology. She is a graduate of The Aga Khan University School of Medicine in Karachi, Pakistan and recipient of several merit scholarships. After finishing postgraduate training in anatomic and clinical pathology in New York and Hartford, she moved to St. Louis to complete fellowships in surgical pathology and hematology at Washington University Medical Center. She is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and hematology. Her responsibilities include mentoring medical students, residents and fellows in hematopathology and diagnoses of bone marrow, blood and lymph node pathologies. Hassan is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP). She has authored several chapters and manuscripts; her translational research focuses on multiple myeloma, small lymphocytic lymphoma and other hematologic malignancies.
