With more than 21,000 employees, the combined medical center institutions are among the largest employers in the metropolitan area.
The 164-acre Washington University Medical Center, spread over portions of 17 city blocks, is located along the eastern edge of Forest Park in St. Louis. At the western boundary of the park is the Danforth Campus of Washington University in St. Louis.
